    I do like this photo, but my eye keeps going to right side of the photo, could it perhaps do with a tighter crop?

    Jason,

    That's just a honey bee (I'm sure Geoff will correct me with the exact species), not a wasp.

    I agree with Kerry on the tighter crop, and I'd also consider a rotation of either 180 or 90 degrees (that doesn't always work, but worth a look).

    nope wasp,honey bee is much bigger,i think i know the difference between a wasp and a bee

    I really need a close look at the wing veins to be sure but it looks very 'furry' for any wasp that I can think of.

    Early worker honey bees can be quite small and there are a variety of fairly small early Andrena species of bees around now.

    Must say it looks like a bee to me. I don't know of any species of wasp has that coloration and appearance that is native to the British Isles.
    Perhaps you could enlighten us as to the species?

    Hey Jason - rather than trying a crop perhaps try a rotation and make it a portrait. You've got a lovely bokeh in that shot which I think with the right perspective will add to the photo rather than take away from your.... ah... winged critter
