I like this! I would have gave more space to the left and a little less right if at all possible but very nice. He looks similar in construction and action to our comorant other than color and the straight non hooked bill.

Hi Paul,
Many thanks for the comments. This is also also locally known as the "snakebird" when it swims its neck and head are the only thing seen above the water hence looks like a snake. I'm sure I've a picture of a Darter and our Reed Cormorant somewhere that I can post.

Well done Clive. As Paul commented we have the same bird or very similar bird here in the USA. Posted below is what is called an Anhinga here or Snake Bird as Paul wrote. This bird in breeding plumage (early spring), most of the year it is less colorful.

Hi Joe, what a striking bird and image. Our "snakebird" does not have a breeding plumage as far as I'm aware.
