you may be interested to know that Tokina have announced a new version of their 11-16 f2.8 zoom.
This one features a Silent Drive focus mechanism so it can be used on Nikon D3100, D5000 & D5100 etc
Nikon version out late March
Canon version out late July

it was also reported on Nikon Rumors
always possible that it was techradar picking up the rumorsite!
The Japanese price is 90,000 yen apparently or about £740, street price may/should be lower.
