    Last Minute Sunset

The other night I was sitting at home relaxing when i looked outside, realizing there was going to be a nice sunset, i hopped in my truck to find a nice spot for a few last minute shots. As I repeatedly drove past very nice spots, i kept driving until a reached the end of the road, it was now or never, and in ended up being a half decent spot.

Did some PP to enhance the color to my desire.

The first one is great, worth a bit of cruising for; very cunning organising the jet trail to follow the power lines and make creative use of them....but I would stamp out the lamp-standards

On the 2nd one, what would you feel about cropping the top to cut out the bridge itself (with a bit off the left to keep shape) and leaving it to show in the reflection only, except that I see that is a lower bridge?? Only personal thoughts.

Actually the second one is not a bridge, I believe its one of those things that shoots sawdust onto the barges. But I see what you mean, I have other pics of the same with out it i think, let me look into it

Nice shots! I'm not very good with manipulating color just yet; still learning/experimenting. Love the color in your first shot. I would agree with the cropping suggestion for the second, unless you were trying for a specific effect with the structure.

Yesterday, while driving home from a day of shooting photos in Jerome, AZ, I looked to the west and saw a beautiful storm cloud with rays of sun shooting out. Grabbed the camera and got a few shots. No PP, just a polarizer filer. Canon XSi; Tamron SP AF Aspherical Di 17-35mm 2.8 - 4.

Thanks - it was one of those "right place, right time" episodes.

Sweet - colors are beautiful. I love shooting sunrise/sunset photos. I'm a bit away from the water here in AZ. Grew up in NJ near the shore and miss the beach terribly. My sunrise/sunset shots are all relatively mountainous as we live in the high desert (5,000 ft.) between two mountain ranges. I have some from S. California but will have to dig them up and resize before posting.

Believe it or not - this was taken at sunrise and is the western sky; moon has not set yet.

There are some really nice colors in those, the desert/mountains down there seem to produce some wicked looking sunsets/sunrises. One day I will have to check it out. I hope to get some in the Mountains this summer

Thanks Aleta, I adjusted curve a bit and cropped using GIMP ( 1 minute work ). No other changes.
