    Iguana Sunbathing

Please remember I am new to this so this is a picture I took on a recent trip to Mexico. I have a Nikon D3100 and this was shot on the automatic setting as I have limited knowledge. I did adjust some on Adobe Elements 9 to tone down the sidewalk and make the Iguana stand out more.
    Thanks
    Diane

I might also try toning down the green area a bit more, Diane. Otherwise, it looks good to me.

Other than the leaves being a little distracting it looks pretty good. Looks like you've got enough depth of field to get most of your critter in focus. Perhaps that back right foot is a bit out of focus but not so much that it's distracting.

Hi Diane! Whenever you can, provide a bit more 'lead-in' space in the direction the subject is moving or facing. He'll look less cramped that way. As you are getting started, one neat trick is to give more space all around your subject than you might initially think. Later, when you are looking at the image, you may want to change the cropping and the little extra space will give you that option.

That's a very good bit of work. A lot of that litter had shadow. And you took that out as well - something that a lot of folks forget to do.
