Cape Reinga Lighthouse at Dawn
My first image from a recent road trip. Quick 5 minute pp on this one at 1am. Yes I know the highlights in the lights are blown. Impossible to avoid when the beam is right above your head. I'll post more images as I process them.
Cape Reinga is almost the northernmost point in NZ. It is where the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea meet and can only be described as spectacular. It holds a special place in Maori culture. Our trip started at 3am on this day. We arived as the first smudge of light was appearing in the East. It wasn't the best sunrise but I did get some great images.

Very nice shot. Would taking 2 or maybe 3 shots and merging them worked? One for a properly exposed lighthouse and the other of the sky, and one for the stars.

Nicely composed and I love that sky. The lighthouse light does appear a bit bright but I like the shot. I wonder what it would like as a B&W.
