    Pandora's Box - X-Files II

So I was sitting around tonight without much to do...
I was going for some sort of Pandora's box type thing with the classic green x-files glow
Those of you that don't like green need not tell me so!
Anyway, it didn't quite work out as interesting as I had hoped - I couldn't quite get the expression I was looking for with the model...
BUT, I did have a friend visit me, and I hadn't noticed this until looking at the pictures after the fact - which made me smile. I hope it makes you smile too

I quite like it Well done. The little spot of light on the wall is a bit distracting though. And finding your visitor was fun, like doing a 'hidden object' puzzle, and he's very cute.

Lens flare - would be easy enough to edit out, though doesn't it add to the x-files look?
    Thanks for your comments

I agree with everyone else - love it, including your visitor - but removing the lens flare I think would finish it off.

Just a really weird idea. If you cloned a second flare spot it would look like a menacing pair of eyes.

    Hi Brian,
'Pandora's box' contained all the evils of the world. When Pandora opened it, all its contents except for one item were released into the world. The one remaining item was 'Hope'. Let 'Hope' you continue to come up with these great ideas, I love it. Well done mate.

Definitely no distractions now - although I can't help but wonder what it would look like with the menancing eyes in the shot

Thank you John. Although this pic didn't turn out as interesting as I had hoped, I did learn a few things along the way. One thing I learned was that it is MUCH harder to do stuff like this shooting yourself! I spent a LOT of time just going back an forth between my camera and my bed

    Brian,
I agree. I considered buying a wireless 3" LCD screen, that connects the transmitter on the Hot-shoe and sends the 'Live-View' picture to the portable unit, for viewing away from the camera. Just not sure if the cost would be worth it. Don't know if you or any of the other members have used or own one; would be interested if anyone has any advice on these units.

There was actually another Pandora's box, which is a totally different story that relates to HMS Pandora.

Very basically, after the Bounty mutiny, Capt Bligh sailed his small boat to Timor. HMS Pandora was a navy ship which was sent to hunt down and capture the mutineers who, when caught, were placed in a wooden crate on the deck.

When most of them had been captured the boat headed back to England but was wrecked. However, the Pandora crew still managed to safely return the mutineers to England so they could be publicly hanged.

That's the sort of world it was in those days.

Perhaps any historians with better information can fill in the gaps to this story.

I need some smoke/fog/mist to make this better. Where can I get some? Not too interested in smoke, it stinks.
