    My wife.

    I know it's not the best quality but it does capture her beauty!

    I'd be inclined to go in with a tighter crop and probably go for a head and shoulders view given that you can't see her hands.

    Fair enough but then, I would think it would make her look bigger than what she is.

    She doesn't look big at all! Cropping on tight just brings the attention to your wife and eliminates some of the distractions the background such as the tree branch above her head (unless it's something you want in the photo)

    Hey Josh!
    If you could increase the contrast and the saturation just a little, this would be a much more catching photo.
    It looks like the focus is off or there is some motion blur, not sure which, but the eyes aren't sharp. In most portrait photos, sharp eyes are the priority! Not all, all rules are meant to be broken

    Hi Josh,

    Your beautiful wife;
    My wife.

    Cropped and contrast enhanced, downsized and sharpened. (oh and I cloned out a distracting zip toggle on her arm too)

    She's obviously enjoying you taking her picture, so play along and get her to look at you, that should encourage some inner beauty to transfer.

    This was shot at 1/80s at f/4.8, iso400 on an obviously damp day, which may explain the softness and the bulky, unflattering jacket.

    Definitely worth another shoot,

    Landscape option, as a change. Cropped, levels, sharpened. Never touch a lady's hair!

    Nice but the side angle is making her face look bigger. Side angle is usually best for Skiny people.

    I thought Josh's wife looked quite slim myself! And I'm not totally sure if I'm correct, but I would have thought that a side angle photograph would make the face appear slimmer, wouldnt the face appear larger if taken straight on?

    She's a lovely lady and thin too (wish I was). Anyhow, there was far too much softness around her face I adjusted the levels a bit , added some shadows and highlight and found even with a sharpening tool , there was still too much softness. Ultimately I went a whole other route and converted it to a Brushed Portrait. Hope you like it!! [ps: I touched up the roots a bit - ].
