Landing Squirrel
On this photo I took this morning, I did a little post processing and tried out the "Andrea - Film simulation" plugin that comes with Bibble.

Re: Landing Squirrel
Personally, David, I would crop a little tighter at the top and left to concentrate more on the squirrel. An action shot like that deserves to be seen closer up.

Re: Landing Squirrel
I'm a first-time beginner here David ----- first contact and upload (I hope) to Cambridge Forum. I'm pretty new to digital photography and normally do architecture. But yours has much more action :-) Yours is the first image I saw on the Forums. My opinion is also that it could be cropped ---- my eye looks for the detail in the squirrel ---- and I have a theory that instinct makes us look particularly to faces, so I like to see the "expression" :-)
We don't have squirrels in New Zealand, but I took one in Central Park NY so will use that for my first attempt at upload:
All comments and suggestions welcome!
This one is also in a Set on flickr I call "New Travels":

Re: Landing Squirrel
Thanks DanK.
I haven't tried RAW yet, though know it's recommended. Learning curve upon learning curve :-)
Majority of my digital so far have been scanning mouldy old slides -- with some successes (many on flickr). Above squirrel is a fully digital critter, however.
Thanks, P :-)
