OK so I just found that if I click on a thumbnail pic, it will open in the lytebox (with black surround) does this happen to others?

As you know, I'm not a Mac or (normally) Safari user, but I get the black surround Lytebox on the image above in this thread.

I think, from memory, for the attached images thumbnails, I still get the older white/cream surround Lytebox, the one with "Prev" and "Next" buttons both on left hand side.

The black new one has left and right arrows for that use;


I just tried it with Safari 5.1.2 and it works fine (on my Windows 7 PC).

Not sure that's any help, but I can understand your frustration.

Hi Dave, yes Safari 5.1.2 is what I am using as well. I think I will delete Safari and re-install and see what happens that way. It has to be on my end, no doubt about it now.

I FOUND IT!!!!! It's one of my extensions, I shut them ALL off just to try it and it's back, it works. Now to find out what extension is the culprit.

The extension was "Awesome Screenshots" it captures shots from you screen. - now gone.

FWIW: I use Solid Capture to do the screen snap above, it is a paid for thing ($20-30 from memory), but you can draw a rectangle around any bit of screen and instantly paste it into an (html) e-mail or save it for uploading here. This avoids having whole screen captures and cropping later, especially useful if you use two screens.

There are more comprehensive apps for that, but I find this just works for me.

No connection other than as a satisfied customer; I used their support once to solve a Win 7 issue when I changed OS, they were prompt and efficient (the fix was just to use a keyboard shortcut initiator that didn't need the Ctrl key - an easy re-assignment in options).
