    Where 44 comes from ;)

As promised- Here is where the "44" comes from:
Our first night of racing lastnight.
Unfortunatley the race was called short - due to Rain...We made it up to 6th - But we'll take that over a Crash!

Qualifying Laps - Craig qualified 2nd!
    Where 44 comes from ;)

Fast Dash- the top 6 fastest(in qualifying) cars race for 10 laps...Craig made it up to 3rd!

That looks like quite a piece of machinery. Look forward to seeing more action shots.

    Nice wheels Kori,

Good pics too considering where you were for #2 and #3.
It's a shame you can't get trackside, or in the centre and shoot without all the pillars and safety nets in the way.

    Regards,

Of course "Plan B" could be to install a passenger seat for you

That explanation of "44" is a hell of a lot more exciting than mine, I'm a 1944 model.

Yes it's tough to get close ups when they're on the track, especially when the Feature race starts because it's getting pretty dark by then and my lens for those far picts is 55-200mm and that's not enough. I wish they would let me infield.. the only way that would happen is if I became the Track photographer, and I don't want to do that because then I would have to take "all" the racers photos... and I don't want to do that! I like helping in the pits too!

Plan B..... well.... I was able to take a ride in the "ride along car" last year - we went for maybe 5-6 laps... I could barely see out of the window though - needed a booster seat in there! I loved it and now I know how easy is it for those cars to spin out in the corners if you hit the gas a second too soon! It was exhilerating to tell you the truth! After the ride was over I told Craig that I wanted to race a car now!

It's sooooo much fun to be there and watch!

I will be taking Tons and tons more - we race weekly until end of August! I will make sure to post some more as the season progesses.

    1944 model... funny!!!!

    Thanks!!!!

There's no problem that money can't solve

Just throw a 5D2 with 400mm/2.8L IS USM on a Gitzo tripod with a Wmberly head and you'll be just about there!

    Hi Kori,

I should send Colin a PM with your birthday in and keep your fingers crossed (but don't hold your breath)

    Causing Colin trouble as usual,

You shouldn't be pressurising poor Colin at the moment. I notice my status changed from Junior Member to Member when I put up my 50th post. So, he'll be online arranging my gift voucher as I write !

    Got it anyway Dave.

I see that we've missed it for this year Kori, but happy 23rd birthday in advance for next year, in case I forget

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the birthday present, but things do happen.

Shortly after I got my D90 one of my very good friends emailed me and said I needed Lightroom, jokingly I replied that he should send me the money. Two days later a fully licensed copy of Lightroom and Martin Evening's book on Lightroom turned up on my doorstep.

I had the exact same type of conversation about the new Canon EF800 ...

    ... sadly, I'm still waiting!
