    2 minutes before Solstice Sunrise

I learned one thing, shoot faster if there are ducks and geese in the viewfinder (the only good ones are stuffed and roasted),as they (not I) ruined a lots of shots. I didn't shoot to get a soft focus, that was mother nature, she kept wanting to condense a fine film over my len. The kit had spent the night in the car to try to prevent that from happening. Oh by the way sunrise was a 7:43 am in Cobourg Harbour (Ontario).

Soft can be nice sometimes. This has to be one of these.

The common wisdom for cold/warm situation handling says - put camera in sealed plastic bag. Let temp in bag reach ambient temps before taking it out.

It needs a very slight counter-clockwise rotation to straighten up the horizon.

    Hi Allen,

Beautiful setting, no doubt...must have been a gorgeous sunrise..

After enjoying your photo for a bit, I felt that it could use a little sharpening, and
and a few adjustments to contrast and color, and also straightened and cropped it
a little to move the horizon into the lower 1/3.

I've found that sunrise pics can be just as colorful as sunsets, and the challenge
is keeping the exposure right as the Sun gets closer to cresting the horizon.

Both images are beautiful and have a special peaceful quality.

I decided not to sharpen this one, see earlier post "better get sunglasses" and you will see why, I think perhaps I was a little too heavy.
