The birds are beautifully captured. The light on them is wonderful. But I feel they maybe are too small a part of the overall image. Or maybe not!. It's maybe just that tree trunk and its shadow. Keep looking at it to 'see' it without that tree in it and I think the birds do work then.

Nice shot but I find the thick border more bothersome then the tree shadow.

    Hi Steve,

Great capture, must have been tricky given how fast they move. If you would accept my inexperienced thoughts, I agree with Donald on the tree, especially the shadow. I don't know if it is possible but maybe the brightness of the path behind the birds could be a bit darker. I really like the way they seem to be running on water and the splashes that are kicked up behind them.

    Cheers

I agree 100%, I hate the tree as well. Having the birds a little more forward in the frame would help as well. I have another frame without the tree, but the birds are less in focus and there are no more water splashes.

I've been trying to get this shot for a couple years now, with no success. Just have to be ready, and in the right place at the right time.

Not a wall hanger, but a cool shot.

I like the idea and where you where going with this shot but feel you need to try again. The tree and shadow are distracting and the crop is too tight on the right. The lighting is good and the image overall is sharp. Maybe try a few different angles and times of the day.
