    Hi John! The sharpening looks fine to me, no halos or other signs of over-sharpening so to me it looks appropriate with a nicely blurred background. I would consider cropping down from the top about 20% to position the bud a little higher in the frame and if possible, tilt the subject a little more to the right to add interest, otherwise it looks great!

    That's a nice one, John. Franks's idea re angling it slightly definitely works. I think you've maybe cropped it a bit tighter than Frank suggested and I think it's now perhaps too tight. It does need a bit of sapce around it, I think.

    Looks great to me! Unless you have close to perfect symmetry, you usually want to be thinking about the rule of thirds and adding interest with angles, which you have done. What do you think?

    I agree. Also adding a little more space on, say, the left than the right, could being the 'thirds' rule more into play horizontally.
