    Hi Steve,

I like it, good composition. I assume you have posted for feedback, so here we go; I would suggest half a stop less exposure, the hands, nose and forehead are all a bit bright.

    The EXIF shows Nikon D200, 50mm, f/7.1 at 1/160s.
I feel the background could ideally be a little less sharp, perhaps f5.6 or 1/2 a stop wider still, would help there.

Glad you got the image posting sorted here, I have deleted the original thread of same name without a picture.

    Thanks for the feedback.
I had a hard time as this it was a grab shot on the hop. sun was blasting, and I only had one shot at what I saw.
her face was the draw she was setting up, and concentrating, I had to get the shot, as when she saw me she changed, and I wanted the realistic look, I set a higher fstop to cover my bat on approaching her, metered off my hand and turned and it came out OK. I'll re-look at it and see what I can do with it more.

    cheers

Yes, that's better Steve, on both counts an improvement but not over done.

    Cheers,

Next time, given the opportunity, meter off her forehead for a better reflective metering zone. I agree with Dave about the DoF. Even in a grab and run shot, care and consideration always has to be taken. In an instance like this where you knew somewhat beforehand you were going to make the shot, you could have set yourself up for an aperture priority exposure, set the DoF and let the camera do the rest. What was missed in that exposure could be made up in post production even with a minimal program.

I would have liked to have seen a moderation of DoF between her eyes and hands which are not too far from each other to cause more than a 1/2 stop close down (4 or 5.6 thereabouts) to capture the intensity of the concentration you first observed. Color is good and composition is at a good starting point.
