Nature has it's own artistic ideas...

I took this last fall (I mean a year ago) with a Kodak superzoom - no RAW capabilities.
I was intrigued by the one leaf that still had a little patch of green. At that time, I just wanted the picture, and paid little or no attention to composition.
I just found it back on my computer and played with it a little bit. Does the B/W work? I toyed with the idea of selective colouring, but that horse has been beaten to death, so I decided against it.
    OOC - White balance adjusted:

    Edit 1:

    B/W:

I like the original with just a teeny bit of purple desaturation to make it look more natural.

The second one shows more details on the leaf. It looks sharper. I like it most.

Hi Kris, I like the original best but in my eyes I think the background could do with toning down just a tad to darken the highlights and maybe a little local sharpening to make the leaves stand out. I'm no expert but I do like the first picture and hope you are not offended by my suggestion.

Absolutely not, and many hanks for the input.
I'm still fiddling around with this picture. I'm planning to print it as part of a collage of about 12 pictures.

Hi Kris! I like the original as well. Just curious, did you ever find out what made the color difference in the RH leaf?
