I was told that the Nikon SB900 flash was designed for a full frame camera and that it would not be a good choice for my D90. Any comments?

Not a nikon user but flash is a flash and it's a light source. Not sure how it could be designed for a FF camera sensor.
Pepper,
Until very recently the SB900 was Nikon's flagship speedlight (their term) and compatable with most of their range of digital slrs. So Chris is quite right really. It's a very adjustable tool anyway so I can't see any problems.
Do you know what? I'm an idiot. I've just remembered talking to the hotel photographer in Sharm el Shieke (Don't ever go there it's aweful) and he was using a D90 and SB900 combo and getting some really good results. Swear I'm losing my memory.
He was a bit heavy handed in the Photoshop area though.![]()
