Canon 7D and AF capability at f8
Looking through previous posts, I found a comment by rpcrowe that the Canon 7D does not have AF capability at f8. Since I have been considering this camera as a second body to a 5D Mk2 for wildlife photography, this would be a concern in that choice. Any further information about this drawback?

Maybe you misunderstood. The camera will not properly AF when a lens, or lens and TC combination have a maximum aperture of f/8. Cameras normally AF at the maximum aperture of a lens up to f/8 and then the camera adjusts to the selected aperture when taking the shot, be it at f/1.0 or f/32.

Out of interest, traditionally Canon 1D cameras will focus at F8, but it's looking like the new 1Dx may buck the trend and drop us back to F5.6 again

Thanks for the clarification. I read the tutorial on autofucus and now it all makes sense!
