    Re: Lines of Light

Hi Milleniummuppet - Looks a good effort to me with a broad tonal range and interesting arrangement of lines. I'm not sure the round object (coins?) works for me, but the idea of a "repoussoir" to bring the eye in and set it roaming around is a good one. I might have used a small angled box to give shadows on the bench echoing the shadow lines in the main frame. Just an idea.

    Cheers

    Ta,
yea I was looking for a small object to draw the eye that would be a direct contrast to all the linear work, the Oldies just so happened to use an object to that description to mash cigarette-butts into ! - So that worked out quite nicely.
I didn't actually think about using something that would cast more of a shadow, it would probably have created an extra interest point in the light.
At the end of the day ( or night ) I still think that the circle complements the image quite nicely.

    Maybe a stripey mug?

If I have a serious suggestion, maybe 5-10% off left hand edge?
For my money, there's just a tad too much dark stuff on the left.

Not sure if I'm missing the corner of the bench too, perhaps have it come to a point on the exact edge of frame?

    Good image though,

My king of image. Very nice indeed. I probably would have lost the point of interest altogther since the image takes you on a journey in any case. The floor draws you to the bench and then the wall draws you into the light

I like it. Talk about leading lines. It's just interesting and I like the lighting too.

This is a very nice picture. I specifically like the foreground floor details revealing by the light.

I love it! I'm pretty new to all this stuff.... I HONESTLY (which I shouldn't even say, but) didn't even notice the coin!
I scanned the photo (saw the coin) but didn't "catch" it with my eyes... I followed the lines top to bottom - then after I read the comments I looked back - ohhh yea there is the coin!

Sooo much more to learn! LOL

    Great shot!
