Yongnuo YN 560 hot shoe flash
Has anyone had any experience with this flash unit? i'm looking for an inexpensive non ettl II flash unit that can be used at reduced power levels for sequential continuous shooting for close up & macro capturing of flying critters. the limited spec listing claims continuous shooting at 1/8 or lower power levels.

I have one. I love it for off-camera work. Never tried using it for continuous shooting, though...

Although it's a bit more than the YN-560, you might look into the LP160 from LumoPro. It's
built to be a workhorse, and as a manual flash unit it gets rave reviews:
