I do like the composition and the shutter speed used here.

Nice to look at. I would darken the picture a little bit and increase contrast.

I like the composition, but agree with Robert, there's something not quite right about the black point and contrast, some of the latter could be due to a mist of rain that the shutter speed has averaged into grey and that's not helping.

I also wonder whether a slight anti-clockwise rotation is needed.

Much could probably be achieved in PP.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments....

Robert, i have darkened a little and increased the contrast as you suggested,

Dave, i have also rotated ccw by 0.2

Hi James, I like the sense of depth the image imparts now. You are getting quite good at this!

    Hi Frank
That comment makes me feel good,
To be honest i have never put much thought into pictures i have taken before, it's only since i joined this site and submitted pictures for others to view and comment on, the encouragement and advice given by others on here is what has made me actually stop and think about what i am doing or how i am doing it,
i know i still have a long way to go and a lot to learn but that is part of the ( frustrating at times) fun.

    Regards
    James

    Re: Woodland Wier

Well, it needs a crop now, but I really feel I ought to produce a picture of my own one day

    Tomorrow perhaps

I never cease to be amazed at how the eye picks up decimal places of error - in other words, how small an adjustment is needed to fix it.

    This is much better now.

    Cheers,
