    Owl on Final Approach

For those of us the photograph birds in flight, this is an amazing video of an owl landing. Just watch how he controls his movement with the position of his wings.

Wonderful video. I also love the way the talons open at the end and then the screen goes black... the last thing a rabbit ever sees.

Frank - As a fellow pilot, I loved watching the slight "control surface" changes and then the feathers on the leading edges of his wings showing the change in airflow at the high angle of attack as he flared and....... A wonderful video.

One of the things I really admire about birds landing is that they NEVER forget to lower their landing gear!

Actually, the video made be think back to the other day when I was hand-feeding seagulls from my car (window down, holding on to chip) - they're pretty darn skillful at co-ordinating the hover to take it from my fingers (and you can feel the breeze coming off the wings).
