    Birds at our back door

These are not great shots. Akin to the comics section in a serious newspaper would be a fair summation, I guess. But they are some taken hurriedly from the windows of the house; most of them through a closed window. Didn't have time to open them as these little chaps are all nervous nellies and do not prop for long. Also they are off at the slightest noise or movement. So, not good shots from me. But thought some may be interested to see some Oz bird life other than our possibly over exposed parrots and cockatoos. Sorry for poor quality as I know that most could have done far better than my poor efforts.
Taken with 300mm Tamron zoom, canon 1000D, hand held, setting = shutter speed of 1/200, ISO 100

Hi Ken, you are fortunate to get such colorful birds in your area. We usually see the occasional black crow and from a diatance an odd turkey vulture. Keep shooting!

You are both lucky. All I get most of the time are gulls looking for supermarket discards.

I agree, with 4 cats (not my idea), we don't get many on the ground in our garden - at least not for long

They do serve their purpose Ken, I hadn't seen these before - having flicked through many British birds books, I don't tend to see what else there is 'out there' in the wider world.

    Cheers,

    Hi Ken,

with these marvelous feather balls in your garden it seems worth to spend some time waiting form them - keep shooting!
