I like the closer up, tighter composition of the second one. And the lighting on it is very good. The one thing that I think maybe addressed is the pole at the top hitting the top of the frame. I wonder about cloning a bit of it to take it away from the top edge.

Used to go there quite regularly for work. Brings back memories, such as waiting forever when the swing bridge got stuck, and travelling 60 miles to get there, and pulling over to take a call having just gone over the bridge to tell me the job had been cancelled! Didnt have a decent camera on either occasion and was probably not in the best frame of mind if I had one with me at that point!
Did get a few opportunities along the coast in both directions to occasionally grab some interesting shots, but no longer have those negs unfortunately.

Back on topic, I think the bridge is difficult to capture its vastness when up close, although from the river itself might be interesting.

I agree that the closer seems to work better. What a wonderful time of day to be out with the camera.

    Hi Paul,

I agree with Donald about the pole on the second.

I do still find the first interesting though as it shows how the funnel the shipping into/under the opening span section regardless of size and need for bridge to open.

    Cheers,
