    butterfly Wing Pinwheel

This was a rainy day project and a learning experience for me. I used features in PS that I have not tried before.

Please tell me what you think.

    Hi Marie,

I love the idea behind this.....but....

You've done something that we're all guilty of doing in Photoshop. You've gone a bit to far with the border.

But then you've gone too far with layer effects!

    And then you've added TYPE!

    And we've all done it!

And I understand that you were exploring the potential of the software. The real skill is in knowing when to stop.

Taken in the vein it was posted. Thank you, Mark. I guess that's what happens when an OCD gets hold of a detail in a picture for an afternoon. hahah

    Marie,

I like the idea and I do get bored myself sometimes. I might try layering two or three in a third of the shot rather than an entire circle. Fiddle with the background a bit and that should occupy some OCD time. My 2 cents...

Its not just Photoshop.......its Creative Suite 5 and I dont see that Marie has gone too far. As the creator she has created a very pleasing effect that is well executed, well done.

Thank you, Scott, MiKe and Ian.

Scott, i was aiming for a southwest Native American feel to this. I left the background blank on purpose because the wings themselves were very busy. I will try with less.

Thank you Mike and Ian, I did not think I went over the top, but the purpose of this forum is to take everything in the spirit of learning, and that is what I do.

Thanks again for looking and commenting,

    I'm full of admiration Marie.
When I'm at a loss as to what to do on a rainy day I tinker and never achieve anything as imaginative as this. I wish I had your artistic eye yet alone the skills in PS and patience to achieve your vision.
