    Ball Lightning

i wish this picture was cleaner but i had to crop the phot to really give the scope of the tiny, but powerful lightning ball to the right of center. Ball lightning is rather rare and still not yet understood. Fewer than 5% of the global population has seen or even heard of it. its hard to tell in the photo. but it stayed lit, flashing, and zigging for about 2sec. i post this picture not so much for the photo composition, but for the sheer "right-place, right-time" aspect.

That is amazing! I am a total sucker for strange phenomena, wormholes, crypto zoology, etc. Do you have other shots? I realize two seconds isn't much time. Nonetheless, very cool!

here's an image of what i hope is what is called a "sprite" its like a lightning "fountain" on top of the thunderhead. the pic is again a little noisy from cropping and enhancing. all i really have on the rare and unexplained.
