    Traditional & Modern?

I like these contrasting views very much. Beautifully executed portraits.

By providing the detailed lighting info, you help the rest of us... many thanks

Beautiful shots Jhong, however I would be less than honest if I didn't tell you
that having your copyright info blazed across the middle of the image was a
    very disappointing distraction for me.

There must be a more subtle or creative method for protecting your images.

Hi Jhong, I love these shots! you really have an eye for beauty and lighting!

Someone once told me that text in an image was the first thing the eye goes to and it can ruin an otherwise beautiful image. Of course, the argument is that we don't want our images used commercially without paying for their use so we put copyright watermarks on the images to protect them. I have also read that copyright watermarks are effectively useless as anyone with a little skill in post processing can easily remove them.

I have very little skill in Photoshop as I've only had it a few months so I thought I'd see if it would be easy to remove the watermark. It wasn't easy! But then, like I said, I'm just a beginner when it comes to post processing. I believe that if you plan to sell your images then you want to have a way that the viewer can easily locate the photographer in case they want to purchase the rights to the image. Although I don't feel my images are worth selling, yours certainly are. My understanding is that the best place to put your text is on the border. I hope you don't mind if I demonstrate what one of your beautiful images would look like if the watermark was moved to the border and the image is free of text. I hope you like it!

Absolutely superb Jhong. The composition is wonderful - everything in this image is flowing and curving, eyes, lips, hair, hands - including the pattern on her sleeve. You're right to want to protect your wonderful photographs.

WOW! what else can I say?

Hey... I know most people are not going to take the time to put the exif data, and even go as far as include a diagram on how this shot was taken... (which is a nice bonus) but it really does help see how the image was created and is an excellent instructional tool. Thats one thing I wish was more prevalent here- at least list exif info... because no matter how many exif info readers I try to use recommended on this site, Im not having luck with getting the info from many pics so I could learn. Just my thought. Now back to looking at Jhongs pics again... boy they are good!

Thank you again for the actual diagram and the extra shot. You are clearly a very accomplished portrait photographer (with an excellent model to display your skills, too !)
