Oh My...I think my blood sugar jumped up 50 pts. just for looking at that..

You should be commended for letting those foil-wrapped delectable goodies remain untouched for so long. Now that you've taken such a fine image of them, please have 1 (or more) for me!

HA! Joe - no wonder you're craving chocolate...

    (er, join the crowd.)

It's funny, I've been thinking all morning that the 50mm 1.8 would work wonderfully for food photography! (not quite the same as yours, though. Is that what you took this photo with? The dof is lovely small.) This is wonderful and I LOVE the subject! Perhaps, I would have put the focus point on the chocolates closer to the foreground. Also, maybe, (I'm not sure) I would have taken a different angle (possibly an angle that was slightly higher), to show more of the chocolates and completely fill the frame with them - the imagination could take over with the dream of an infinitude of chocolate kisses. Oh, heaven!!!

Hi Katy! I took that shot with a Pentax smc A-50mm f/1.4 lens. Heres another shot. I think this one is closer to what your suggesting. I was in a hurry with these shots,as I knew it wouldnt be long before everyone dug in.Wish I had taken the time to set up the shot. These were taken at our San Antonio Bonsai Society annual picnic. I did take one of the chocolate covered strawberries but the table was shaking from the food being put on it.Came out blurry

i think that there is a great CiC collective subconscious that goes around. I've been thinking about photographing chocolates for a while, now. (Wendy's my private witness to the thought.) Then, Steve mentioned it. Now, here you are. The hot thing has been bees but I think we may be on to something novel and tremendous, here!

I was looking at Mike's( Dizzy) photo of Calla Lillies and thought how cool it would be to photograph a pure chocolate Calla Lillie or other piece of very detailed "chocolate art"!

But don't forget the nutritionists' advice also to consume plenty of cereals and fruit every day. And while you are pondering over what goes into making beer and wine, I must go and open another bottle to balance my diet - see you later.
