    Aphrodite

My rendition on the birth of Aphrodite.

    The text is from wikipedia:

"In the most famous version of her myth, her birth was the consequence of a castration: Cronus severed Uranus' genitals and threw them behind him into the sea. The foam from his genitals gave rise to Aphrodite (for which reason she is called "foam-arisen"), while the Erinyes (furies) emerged from the drops of blood."
(I really don't know if I should have posted this, it's harsh! Say it and I'll delete it.)

On the shot now, the crop is strange but that doesn't bother me. What do you think? Also, I would like some suggestions on whether I should process it further to better suit the title. I am thinking of including a more "dreamy" feel to it but I don't know how to do this.

Some feedback on how succesful I was on delivering the idea are most welcome.

    Aphrodite

My preference would be to see all of her.....all the rest, I like.

Well done. Leaves me curious though.... Perhaps that's exactly how I should feel. I think you have captured the objective quite well.

Love the intrigue. Makes me think of Halle Berry in Die another Day.

    Hello Giannis,

it is a nice composition and well exposed picture. B/W is just right here. I suggest two things. First crop in a little bit. Second change the picture to a more panoramic format to give the sea a wider look.

    Bye

Thank you Robert. On your first suggestion you may have a point. On the second I am not sure what do you mean. I suspect you are saying to loose all the stones on the foreground and some foam by cropping? If so, I believe that the foreground is a vital part of the image.

Yes the Halle Berry image struck me too.

Don't spoil it, ......photography... the camera should leave you wondering sometimes.

    Hello Giannis,

I think I did not express me right. On this picture I would crop in a little bit, so that the stones are just on the edge of the picture. The scene would also look great in landscape format. I would try to shoot the same scene in a wide landscape format, like 16:9 if there is the opportunity again.

    Bye

    Re: Aphrodite

Thanks for clarifying it Robert. Sadly, shooting one similar again will be difficult. I will keep your suggestion in mind.
