    What a spectacle

I spent a bit of time this morning getting some new found respect for bird photographers. Would someone please explain to them that thet shouldn't fly off when I approach.

Mary... or Lucy... either is fine with me. ;)

Oh my gosh, Mark! The first one is beautiful. The bokeh and the colors are so eye catching. But the second one... looks like he/she is going to come after you. Perfect.

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

I have to agree with Mary on the first image. Everything is just spot on with that, Mark. Well done!

Thanks Mary. The second guy was a real poser. I caught him when he was busy grooming himself for the day ahead. I'm busy getting the hang of a new lens. Unfortunately its winter here now and the weather has been pretty lousy. Can't wait for summer when all the migratory birds get back from your side of the world.

I got so caught up in the first two... I didn't even notice the third! Great shot as well. I know it's winter there... I still am... amazed that it's so hot and humid here and winter there. The colors are really beautiful for winter. I'm used to winter lasting 6 months and it just looks dead... completely and totally foresaken and dead. Good shots, Mark. Thanks for sharing.

The second guy is so fluffy and funny - and he gave you that look, oh, no picture please when I'm grooming myself
    Great shots !
