Back from my Wanderlust in the New England States

Of course it rained every day but one while I was in Maine, and the day it didn't rain, it was cold, blustery and overcast...but, there were still some good images to be obtained...here's three of a billion and a half I shot ...well, maybe just 2 or 3 hundred.

Welcome back to you online home! I'm just back from France and am similarly beginning to post up what I think might be of some interest to others.

That third one above, with the mist floating across the front of the hill and the reflection in the calm water is lovely. That larger tree in the right third sector really lifts it. And it's got the sort of sky that I love. A very well constructed image.

Thanks, Donald. That moment was a rare (very rare) break in the constant rain...but, rain or not, I shot. More to come.

Mary... or Lucy... either is fine with me. ;)

All three capture New England perfectly. I am drawn to the second one. I love the wild of the ocean smashing up against the rocky shore - reminds of the Pacific Northwest coasts that I love so much. And the vibrant colors... I love vibrant colors.

I love the liquidity of the reflections in the last shot Chris. The first seems to be verging on the over-processed. With the other two you have managed to get a real colour 'film' quality to them. I like it a lot.

Beautiful photo's Chris.I also like the reflections in #3.I'll have to say you persevered through inclement weather conditions and took some great images.

Oddly enough, the first one is dang near as it came out of the camera..mostly did some cloning to remove unwanted stuff in the background and up by the house and gave it a simple sharpening.

Are you sure you were in New England and not old England ? The weather you describe could halve been here, but I have to say it's not been too bad lately.

Travelling gives great photo ops and and these are all lovely-the gull close-up is really good and I very much like the boat and the house-the last one with the boats and the forest and lake reflections make for a very attractive shot- calming. Those Lupins are really vivd and are one of favourite flowers because they stand up straight-like they're at attention-neat tidy and orderly. I'm sure you'll find a few more that stand out for you that we can see.

I was drawn to #1 as my druther of the druthers, Chris. Can I ask? How does it scrub up in Black and white? But all are great shots. Thanks for posting. Glad to see your trip produced some positive outcomes which you have kindly shared with those of us who " just couldn't be there."
The structure is interesting and to me somewhat unique. Not seen anything like it down here.
Okay. Before i hop on my bike and cycle off into the night. Just a little nitpick, Oh yes, there always seems to be a nit pick from some little 'SA" who couldn't do a better job anyway. I wonder if losing the 'fringe' along the top LHS of the roof might be helpful?
    Cheers

I am sure one day, i will run out of images...but I shot over 600, so it shan't be anytime soon.

You've got some great images here Chris, I want to visit the area Sadly the only insight I have into the area is from watching Jessica Fletcher in Murder She Wrote. (but those impressions were good)

    Cheers Dave
