Very nice framing and a lot of emotion in these shots. I love the palm trees around the white stone pedestals of the statues.
People often forget that many of them owe their freedom to the WW-I Doughboy pictured in the second image. Of course, we Americans also need to remember that an entire generation of young men from the U.K. and the rest of Europe was lost during WW-I fighting for their own freedoms and that the loss of lives in comparison with national populations was far greater in the nations which fought from the beginnings of that war in 1914 to the end in 1918. If they had not held on that long, the world would certainly have been a different place...
