Three Selfies
The photo club I belong to is non-competitive, but instead runs monthly assignments and a year-long project that is meant to take more time and effort. This year's year-long project was to create three self portraits / selfies. I spent a couple of days working on these images. All shots were done with the camera tethered to my laptop.
All are studio shots and have titles that photographer can relate to:
1. Me planning my next photo shoot - This was the most challenging of the three and I used four lights. Three Godox AD200 Pro II and a Godox V1 Round Head speedlight. The key light (camera left) is a 55cm / 20" silver beauty dish. I used a small 25 cm / 10" beauty dish on the camera right as my fill light. I have a bare-bulb flash behind me to create the halo around my head. Finally I used the V1 on low power to light a 15cm / 6" crystal ball (you can see the fresnel lines from the flash in the ball).

2. After messing up a shot - I used a 120cm / 48" octabox as a background for this silhouette. I was in a small room so, there was plenty of light bouncing around. The caught the curvature of my eyeball, which I decided to leave in the shot to make it a bit more strange looking.

3. After a full day in the studio - Split lighting using the same large beauty dish as in the first shot, but with a 30 degree grid to manage light spill. I shot this at a 20mm focal length on a medium format camera (about 16mm full-frame equivalent). My nose was almost against the front lens element. Interesting distortion here, especially on the nose. I wanted a very dramatic look and I feel that I achieved it.
