Ottawa Locks 1 - 8 - Empty
The Rideau Canal opens in the middle of May. The Ottawa locks (1 - 8) are still empty, even though the canal behind Lock 8 appears to be full. The locks are all emptied over the winter to prevent ice damage. The Canal was built from 1826–1832 and is still operating. It is over 200km long and connects Ottawa and Kingston, Canada. The canal meets the Ottawa River here. It can be seen in the background.
The eight locks provide a lift of 24.1 metres / 79 feet.

It good to see that you can go out to shoot again.
I like the view of the empty canal. The low contrast emphasizes the dreariness of the day.

Thanks André - handling a camera continues to be a struggle. Fortunately, I managed to not drop it.
I got about 30 shots yesterday and about the same today. I feel like I am shooting film.
