Took a couple of shots of my new headphones to put on a review/blog/thingy I promised a couple of friends who wanted to know what I thought of them.

Great shots and No1 is my sure favourite Robin.

Just a thought, I wonder if it would have been preferable to have arranged the phones in such a way in No 1 so that both the name and the wood surround nearest were on the same focal plane so both were in focus? I have a wood grain fetish

I just spotted the same thing this morning when I was posting this, didn't notice it last night as I was taking them. These are the budget :roll eyes: Audeze headphones so you get veneer and not solid wood but it still looks and feels lovely.

Love an excuse to get the camera out again.....

It is hard to describe just how good they are.

Imagine all you had ever shot on was a decent compact camera but you then used a DSLR with a really good lens - the different in the results is the sort of thing I'm experiencing. My Sennheiser's are far from being basic but these things had me sitting last night completely lost in the music in a way I have never been before. The clarity is astounding, the ease at which they produce a gigantic sound stage is hard to put into words and the thump you get from the bass without it ever over powering the rest of the music is breathtaking. At the moment they're plugged into my Squeezebox but I will have to get a proper headphone amp as they deserve the treatment it will bring. I've loads of albums on a NAS, all high resolution, so flicked about between dozens including a good recording of Tosca, a coupe of tracks by Adele, Lhasa and Eels then switched to some electronic from Brian Eno, a bit of Klaus Schulz and The Orb then finished the night with the whole of dark Side of the Moon. I also have Seasick Steve's Sonic Soul Surfer on vinyl which delayed the dogs walk this morning until I had heard it through to the end.

I like them if you hadn't realised

Which Sennheisers are you coming from for this comparison?

They're HD555's which I've had a good few year so while the jump is going to be big they are still a decent pair of headphones.

It's evident in your words and variety of styles chosen to evaluate the headgear.

Well maybe Robin, but not my budget for sure! Sure would like to hear them though!

So man? What’s in the BG? Please tell me that is not a couch cushion!

I think I might lose the white piece of a logo on the surface between the two cans on #2. Maybe even crop out the edge of that surface or if you have a wider shot have more of it in.

The word “Audeze “ in #1 looks great.

These were taken using natural light in the conservatory so yes the background is just one of our leather chairs. .
The headphones are sitting on the box they came in hence the bit of logo. I tried to get more of it but couldn't get an angle I like and didn't want to clone it as its meant to be there, you're right though it's a distraction.
