There are some beautiful rockpools in Kingsbarns....worth getting your feet wet for.

Wonderful composition and conversion! Consider reducing the brightness at the middle right side of the frame, as it pulls my eye away from the interesting foreground and the people toward beyond the frame.

No...don't! I completely disagree...it may seem a distraction but actually that bright spot leads your eyes to the people in the scene and then the rest of the picture and objects in the image...it's a kinda triangle thing...

Moving on...I like the conversion too...sepia brings out the memories...and we must have a mandatory dog to take to the beach...

    Very nice Sharon,

Usually I'm the first to suggest removing bright areas or spots - but I found my eye just wandered around the composition without wanting to exit the frame anywhere. There's so much to see.

If I have any small suggestion, it would be to consider stretching the blacks (just a very little) to reveal a tad more detail in a few areas where the blacks look clipped, which is presenting as uniform areas of detail-less blackness. Predominantly I see this on that finger of rocks in left mid scene, but also the horizon rocks on right and even in centre foreground to an extent - but I emphasize that I don't mean lifting them by much. It is so nearly perfect - for me - although I acknowledge you and others may not concur.

    Thanks, Dave

    Thank you all.

Mike....I spent ages ensuring that wee light patch sang..because it brought me joy.

Izzie...i was interested to see if anyoone would defend my choice there...thank you.

Dave...you are totally correct...the blacks overwhelm the delicacy of the scene and i will seek to remedy that..just a little.

I appreciate everyone's comments and interest.

    Thanks guys.

I am reminded of the words of Joni Mitchell:

    Every picture has a shadow
And it has some source of light

    Blindness, blindness and sight

    Compelled by prescribed standards,
To our own ideals we're blind

    Saying its wrong,
    Wrong and right....
