Not sure which activity would confuse me the most...![]()
Cheese and wine, what more can I ask for? Well, it looks like cheese to me, Brian...![]()
The "Bombe" was one of the first computers and was used to decipher the German Nazi Codes from their Enigma Machine. Bletchley Park was where the code breakers worked and where the code was broken. One of the most fascinating stories of World War II. I'd love to visit there someday.
I had the pleasure of visiting Bletchley Park to attend a two week training course in the early to mid 1980's. Unfortunately at that time the museum wasn't in existence or if it was I wasn't aware of it. However the wartime huts were still in existence though we're not mentioned wrt the code breaking which took place in them.
I do remember asking about the history of the main house (in my time there it contained a staff social club) I was allowed to purchase a brief history of the house which made more of the ornate plasterwork of the ceilings than any mention of the sites wartime exploits.
Maybe a case of if I told you I'd have to kill you :-)
