    Another orchid, a Miltonia Hybrid:

Have been experimenting with different backgrounds and lighting setups.
This is the first time I used two studio lights with softboxes.

    Exif: 7D, 100mm macro, f8, 1/200, iso 100
All shots are stacks from 6 to 8 pictures, stacked in Zerene Pmax & DMap & Retouched.

I am specially interested in your ideas/thoughts on bg & ligthing , but off course all C&C welcomed and appreciated.

Background Rudi are all OK...though I particularly like #1 and #3 best. #1 because I like the gradient and the colours you used in this and black because everything pops out more naturally., I like #2 too. I think the colour matches the flowers without overpowering it. Good job....you are getting good at this ...

Thanks Izzie, your comments are very much appreciated !!
I might hope that I get better at this, which was the main reason for starting this thread, but I am still very unsure, and a lot to learn...

FWIW...I tend to select orchids with protruding columns and anther caps, as you have done...
seems to make for a more dramatic image. Your subject however, is a bit garishly colored.

    Dear Rudi,

Your pictures are evolving. Each step you have taken has been a successful experiment.

    Great job.
