    Autumn experiment

never tried this before but was watching the leaves on a tree blowing in the wind and wanted to capture the essence of that - so pushed iso down to 100, f22 and 1/15th sec then swiped camera left to right as i took the shot to blur the leaves a lot on a sunny day. I like it but would be very interested in everyone elses views

For those that do composites...that would make a great background.

Very creative. Yes could be used as a background, I guess, or if you like doing graphic design in Photoshop you could use it for something like a background or border. I can't see any sky in it that I can tell, that may have interrupted the colors if there was any. I recently took an intentionally out of focus shot of some colorful leaves on the ground with similar intentions.

    Nice creative effort.

I have hundreds of these, usually from a slip of the finger. Nice effort.

    Re: Autumn experiment

thank you all for your time to look and comment, much appreciated - I think I may be tempted to get it printed on canvas and see how it looks in 'real life' as it were.

Its not a style I have tried before and pretty certain if I tried again I would not like it so much - maybe the novelty value is intruding here for me as its so far off my normal photography

I intend to shamelessly steal this idea. Probably cannot pull it off as well as this. Just abstracted the right degree; enough to give the impression of fall leaves blowing in the wind but allowing the viewer to inject their own thoughts.

NIcely done, Mark. ICM is a real challenge, and the results are hit or miss but you have pulled this one off.

PS re Izzie's reference: search Daisy Mae on this site. Her work is inspirational.

Ooopppsss sorry...Daisy Mae is the woman (or is she? by her avatar she is...) love taking blurred shots and she is good at it too. She was recently in and uploaded a beautiful shot of a field full of rolled grass similar to Donald's but lots of them. Before this last submission that is/was her style of shots and she prints some of them in fabrics. She is not in as much now unlike before...

Thanks Greg and Izzie, I certainly will search for Daisy to gain more inspiration around this style, I think I will try to do more of these after all as I find this one easy on the eye and fun.
