Architecture Fine Art. 1st Attempt. C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

It is an image of Lotus temple, New Delhi, India.

I have created 2 version of the same image. Please choose which one is better.

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition and processing.

    Thank You

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended).

    Raj,

Both are equally nice as the change is very subtle.

Both work for me Raj, although I personally think the first one, which is a touch lighter, works better. I find the second one is getting a but muddy looking.

    Regardless, two very nice images!

Well seen and well balanced comp Raj. First one for me on the basis of the lighting.

Raj, that first one is a killer...I would not hesitate returning to work that structure some more.

Absolutely beautiful! I have a strong preference for the 1st image because the beautiful light (lighter) emphasizes all the beautiful lines of the structure.

Sorry, I have no knowledge or experience to offer input on the composition and processing but I thought I would let you know that I think it is a gorgeous image.

I have reviewed these images several times intentionally before commenting. I like both of them but I prefer the first one. Even so, I can't get out of my head that I don't understand the apparent beam of light coming from the background. It doesn't seem to be lighting any surface that is included in the image and that makes it confusing to me.

Raj, I like the 1st one better because of the lighting. The second image is nice also.

I can't offer any advice but opinions are easy and free Similar to most comments so far I prefer the brighter image as it offers more detail to look at. Overall the image seems well balanced and has pleasing lines/shapes. Nicely done.

The sky is really dark and flat. I have read somewhere that the sky should also compliment the structure ... with a streak or long exposure clouds. When i clicked the image, sky was flat. So, i decided to add a streak in the sky to give a dimension to the sky.

Please share your kind views on it. Thanks

I think the sky complements the structure in this case by being totally black. Try it to determine if you like it.

If you do decide to add some light to the sky, make sure the direction of the direct light is consistent with the direction of the reflected light. The reflected light on the buildings seems to be coming mostly from the left, whereas the direct light that you added to the sky is coming from the rear.

For other ideas, review the photos Ansel Adams made with a dark sky. Some of them are totally black except for the brighter light that appears as a gradient near the horizon.

Thanks a lot for your kind suggestion and inputs. I will study Ansel Adam's image. Really Appreciated.

Here is the version where we have totally dark sky...
