Hi guys,not been commenting or posting for a couple of weeks,long story,anyway here's a few recent Hoverflys,#1 is female and #2&#3 are male,#3 was sticking his tongue out at me C&C Welcome as always!

Hello David, nice to see you uploading images and commenting again I was really worried about if you were ill again. These are very nice compositions indeed. BGs are very good too. They are all nice images. My best is #3 with very nice detail in the front wing and its head looks really sharp. It is eating something, isn't it?

David! Long time, no read! Life gets in the way of photography? 'Glad to read from you again...I bet the other bug guys Geoff and Grahame are willing to share the limelight with you again in the bug-o-graphy zone of CiC ...

Anyway...#1's face is cute. Reminds me of one of the Disney characters. What a shot! Good side pose there...the little fur coat of #2 is superb. #3 looks cute too. You got them all covered.

Seriously...I like #2 its pin tack sharpness as can be too. It looks like s/he is on top of a celery. I like the other two too but my favourite is really #2. #3 three looks good too. Is that the one you said has the tongue out for you? It looks like s/he is eating a bug...I could stare at all these three for a long time and find faults but I cannot. They are all very good shots. Nothing to nit about...

Welcome back and as always we get a great series. For me No 3 really stands out here, it's the eyes and wing detail and sharpness.

Not sure if that's a tongue or meal, but it sure adds interest.

First and last are Sphaerophoria family, David. Difficult/impossible to get the actual species from photos though. Not sure about the other one; there are several options from just that angle.
