Captive in the Dark. C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition and processing.

    Thank You

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended).

Captive in the Dark. C&C Welcome

    Update 1 :
Cropped a from the bottom to remove extra foreground.

Fun shot fotugraphy. Very old, grainy movie-esk. More of sketched drawing feel. I don't know that id have any pp suggestions, Maybe a touch of contrast.

Compositionally I wonder what it could look like cropped off center, or perhaps just burning the lighted area to the right.

I'm fairly new to all this, but I like the feel you captured. How was it shot?

The composition works quite well for me and i love that ink-drawing look you achieved.

    Good job, Raj.

I like it. Almost looks like a painting or drawing.

Nicely done Raj. This is not a form of photography that I tend to work in, so I can't offer anything other than basic compositional thoughts.

When I look at this image, I find that there is too much foreground. You might want to try some fairly radical cropping of the bottom of the image to see what that does for the composition.

Thanks a lot for your valuable review I really like the cropped version better than the original. Learning a lot from everyone here. Really appreciated

Raj - I was thinking of something even more radical in the crop; more like this:

Raj - I'm not sure if it looks "better", but it certainly looks "different". Better is related to personal taste and is not an absolute.

I really gotta agree with Manfred here.
Especially in images like this one, which I really like, discarding all rules oftentimes produces superior results.
