Bluebird of Happiness
An image just for fun and for the happiness of it.
The bluebirds have staked out their nesting boxes and their territory. One has staked out my kinetic wind spinner as well as his favorite perch.

Soon, Louise, soon.
After such a fierce cold and snowy winter, I am so very grateful for above freezing temperatures.

Re: Bluebird of Happiness
Dear Frank, John and Izzie,
Thank you. I confess that this shot I already had semi-scoped out in case I ever saw him on the spinner again. I was shooting through a front window.
Izzie, it was just my good fortune that I was home, it was early morning and lovely light, and that he felt like posing for me.

Re: Bluebird of Happiness
Lovely image! I adore that the colours of the bird recur in the wind spinner. Well done, the bluebird and you!

Re: Bluebird of Happiness
Very nice picture!
A musing. There was a well know song "There'll be bluebirds over, the white cliffs of Dover", which I am sure some will remember. But there are no bluebirds in the UK!

Re: Bluebird of Happiness
Beautiful image of a beautiful bird! Beautifully focused and sharp. I especially love the composition, colours and the background, and that wind spinner is also a very pretty decorative piece. I also love the sense of it spinning.

Re: Bluebird of Happiness
Binnur, Irene and John, thank you.
Brigitte, the sunlight was a beautiful orange pink early this morning. You can see it reflected in the copper of the spinner. It just made the colors more brilliant. I did little post processing to this image for fear of making the blue and orange in the bird seem fake.
Dave, I am finding them to be feisty little critters. They are very territorial. We have had to cover the truck mirrors as the stupid thing was thinking there was another bird in the mirror. So...maybe not having them is a good idea...
Ken, there is very little post processing to this. Only beautiful morning light.
Christina, as always, thank you for your comments. The spinner actually was spinning. We had a nice morning breeze.

Re: Bluebird of Happiness
Oh but you must take credit for taking such a lovely shot. I have some living on my property but they are somewhat shy, and have not lent a good shot for me. Beautifully done Marie!

Re: Bluebird of Happiness
Hi James!
Nice to hear from you! When we moved to our new digs in November of last year, there were several boxes all over the place. The bluebirds have chosen the 2 on the fencerow. They seem used to our coming and going. I feel fortunate.
Kyle, thank you.
