Rainy day, back alley!

Grabbed this shot on my way home this evening and it seemed to work well with textures. I am a total sucker for an umberella shot.

    All C&C welcome

Oooh..just looked at it on here...works better BIG!

Umbrella looks very fine but aren't the walls too dark?

The left is wall..the right is foliage...I think the dark provides depth.

Why i see a train, which is not there???..... or is it there???? The brightness of the left top part is a bit distracting...or was that your plan? I like this...even distraction is a way of attraction

I can only assume it's down to size Binnur....!

Nanda....I can totally see where you get the train. I like that people read their own things into it.

Continually intriguing images. Keeps challenging my concepts and base operating system.

I have one *criticism*; on the right, the dark, chevron-ish lines, a bit too dark for me (looks like a roof eave?), keeps drawing my eye there when I KNOW it would rather be elsewhere. Perhaps just me...

The black bits to me are too distracting, but I do like the invasion of the giant headed caterpillars on the left hand side.

Sharon, maybe just dodge it a bit to lighten it up. Actually I'm kind of fascinated with it, likely not your intent and it literally keeps drawing my eye to it and away from the umbrella.

Painting with a camera. Sharon I like it a lot. You accomplished what we all would like to do: you have develop your very own style! It is a treat each time to discover what your newest creation will be. Like stepping in someone else's dream. For me, the light post is the only element revealing that this is not an actual painting. I also see a train.

Sharon, as usual, your work provokes serious attention.
I too can see the 'train', but that is only after reading other responses.
Initially, I saw the umbrella, probably because of the title. More interesting, my first 'emotional' thoughts suggested factory gates to the right of centre.
Growing up in Liverpool in the 50's I have strong memories of the docks, dock gates, and people waiting around. They are comfortable, but slightly strange memories, triggered by the tone of your image.
