    Islands in the sky

At least that's what they looked like to me.

The scene had that foggy/dreamy/ethereal look to it. What do you think?

    Your C&C welcome.

Thank you, David, I'm glad you like it. My wife and I spent some time soaking this in before we moved on.

Nice shot Sergio - have you tried converting it to black and white? I would love to see that if you are so inclined

Thank you, Bobo. It was mystical being there and looking at the scene. Made the doldrums of life fade away.

Shane, thank you for the comment. Yes, I am inclined. I'm on a work computer, but once I get home I'll work on a coversion and repost when I have something.

Agree with all who have commented. I think it illustrates what I remember someone saying in a previous thread about fog/mist. That is, that having something clear in the foreground is a good idea. It really works here!

Nandakumar, thank you, and I'm glad that you find it so. I find it difficult to name my photos but this one just seemed to fit.

Terri, thank you for your detailed comment. I also remember that thread and try and apply it when circumstances permit. I think it may have been Geoff who stated that in one of his responses.

Thank you, Leslie, for the encouraging comment. It was a beautiful scene to behold, something I had not quite seen before.

    Re: Islands in the sky

I'm re-posting the image in monochrome due to the interest Shane expressed in seeing that version.

Shane, I'm not sure this is what you were expecting. I've still got a long way to go on my post processing skills and more so on BW. I tried to bring out the detail and difference in tones, but could only go so far before it lost that misty look.

If you have something else in mind and would like to give it a try, please do. I'd enjoy seeing the results.

Both great - particularly like the B&W, the foreground detail really comes out in it.

    Thank you, Kaye.

I like both and am having trouble deciding which one more, but I think I might be leaning towards the B&W.
