    Since the aim of these is to get you taking and submitting photos, let see if it can also encourage people to post monochrome (black and white) images, even if that's not in their normal photography 'diet' (e.g. like me)

    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post MONOCHROME images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

    Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

    If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread in this forums

    40D 17-85 f4-f5.6 IS USM @ 38mm. ISO 100. 8s@f16. 3-stop ND. Manual. 7:20am March 7.

    This is the first. I got a few (very similar) that I want to post up (will flood competitions threads with the Tay Bridge). This is what I had wanted for the first Themed Competition (Bridge that Gap).

    A bit cheeky perhaps (apologies ) but I have worked this version entirely in Adobe Camera RAW, both sharpening and conversion to B/W.
    Which is the better of my 2 entries? Would love to hear from our B/W experts.
