    My favourite Aussie icon

    Hi all,
I was out walking the dogs this afternoon and always take my camera with me. As luck would have it, I spotted my favourite native beasty, the Echidna.
Just finished editing a couple of images as best I can and have provided before and after for your C&C. If anyone would like the raw images to have a play with just let me know.
    Thanks, Greg.

From your title Greg I was expecting some pics of Kylie Minogue

But what a great find ! #4 is a beauty IMO.

Sure looks like a Kylie of the 4 legged world. Beautiful little thing. Me too with #4.

    Thanks Dave,
As far as I know Kylie doesn't frequent Launceston or the Hardwicke Street dog walk area, but next time I'm there I will keep my eye out.

I think the echidna is brave (even with all the spines) to be strolling around a dog park

They are my favourite of our wildlife too; well both the monotremes really... but I especially remember learning about the echnidna's reproductive systems in biology and just being in awe

From your photos it seems like your echnidnas have a lot more coarse hair than ours do here.... guess weather would play a large part in that And yes, number four is my favourite of your photos too. Thanks for sharing!
