    Ethereal: Nocturne in Grey

The white vases against a black background with smoke added have been working fairly well, but I have been less happy with the work images I have been getting with the black vases. The black against white seamless paper was not that interesting. The black on black seamless paper was highly dependent on the reflections from the vases.

I spent the past couple of days shooting black vases against a grey seamless paper, and that seems to have potential. This one is okay, but is a bit static, but the combination seems to be where it might work.

I like the colours/tones with the grey background and smoke, that works well for me. However, I'm not inspired by the composition of two the vases and the wooden object, it lacks something... Perhaps the wooden object is too small relative to the vases for it to contribute much to the composition ? Perhaps it is too centred ?
