Project 52 - flirting with the darkside

As I've posted a few times recently, age-related factors have limited what I am able (and would like) to do, so I have decided to embrace the dark side. Here is the first attempt, a fragment of a bouquet of flowers, pressed, and edited in Photoshop.

Hardly shattering stuff but enough to encourage me that I do not have to be out and about to have fun!

The dark side might just turn out to be the right side for you!
This is good enough that it would be worth getting rid of the three dark spots in the upper left and the one top centre. If you can, enlarging the canvas would also help.

    Keep playing.

Hi Bill, I agree with Andre on all counts. It's lovely.

Thanks Andre and Daniel. I cleaned up the spots (my bad!), extended the canvas, and brushed in a few more leaves top left.

Bill, this image represents an authentic bombshell, a radical break from what we usually do. The composition dissolves the boundaries between photography and painting, creating a completely new visual language that surprises me with its conceptual boldness.

The fusion between floral elements and pictorial textures generates a dreamlike atmosphere where colours spill and blend organically. The vibrant greens of the leaves contrast magnificently with the purples and pinks that spread like watercolours on wet paper, creating an unexpected and captivating chromatic harmony.

The result is truly fascinating, a visual exploration that transcends the conventional limits of photographic imagery. This experimental approach opens the way for new expressive possibilities, demonstrating how creativity can radically transform our perception of the medium.
Are there more? Bring them on! This artistic direction definitely deserves to be explored and developed, as it reveals extraordinary creative potential.

    Cheers !

Thank you Antonio. There are no more at present but I am going through my colection of pressed flower images so there may well be more ...
