If you had never wondered if eagles wore undies, now the answer is ... Depends!

(For those not familiar with Depends, they are diapers (nappies) for incontinent adults!)

Looking at the other end is far more elegant image...

And really impressive on the wing...

Whenever I try a shot like your third Trev ...

I either miss focus, or get that but mess up the exposure, or get both and find it is right in front of some very complex and distracting background element that's the same colour and tonality as the bird being shot.

So well done (for all three).

    Thanks Dave!

When I took the shots I frankly thought that I might get only one or two good acceptable ones, but I was amazed that about 70% came out. I was using a Canon 70-300L zoom on a Canon 7DII and I have found that lens to be tack sharp on every occasion I have used it.

These shots are not just down to the kit. There's also a dose of good photography involved as well. Excellent set of images Trev.

That first shot is funny, Trev. Techs are good on all of them. Beaks just nipping out of DOF on the two portraits. There's always the dilemma of adequate DOF versus a nice bokeh.

Yes... it was actually very shaded where I was taking the portrait shots and I was sitting at 300mm, hand held. Still, I think I got the eyes, and that's the main thing!

This one was a bit tricky... It's a peregrine falcon, the fastest animal on the planet, one was clocked at over 200mph in a dive! This one was nowhere near that but it WAS very fast. I caught it as it came to grab a lure being spun on a chord by a keeper. Initially I was going to throw it out, but as I looked at it again I liked the contrast between the frozen outline of the keeper, and the highlighted blur of the bird as it rocketed past.

Great series Trev. Still laughing at #1. I wish Fruit Bats around here had heard of Depends.
